Modern Family
03:41
|
|||
Step in the shoes- this is who I am
On the weekend up at 8 AM
What's a step dad supposed to be
In a modern family?
The sun's just up but he's ready to go
I laugh to myself as I watch him grow
Donkey Kong and DVD's
I fight the urge to go back to sleep
I ask myself, "What are the rules?"
When I drop him off at school
I'm scared to death- Am I doing it right?
Nothing here is in black and white
But this is what I love
And it's how I live
I'll always find something more to give
I'll be the man, I'll be soft when I should
If things get bad I'll try to make them good
Modern family
We are a modern, a modern family
Sometimes it means I cook and clean
With work and sleep coming in between
But it's worth every step for the smile on her face
Even when life moves at a crazy pace
We'll find a way to balance the weight
And if there's crooked edges we'll make them straight
When the lights go out, I'll find my peace
It's these thoughts that put me at ease

Destiny Calls Us Here
02:20
|
|||
dedicated to the memory of Frank Ruffino of China White/The Outsiders
This is the Wild West
There ain't no consequence
For all the things that we do
The grayness in our eyes
Reflects the smoggy skies
And they're never turning blue
But destiny it calls us here
Woah oh to the golden frontier
And though the skies are never clear
Our destiny calls us here
Across the County lines
With Clockwork Orange lives
Oil bubbles from the sea
We're anti socialite
Hollywood has bought the rights
To the stars we'll never see

Los Angeles (I'm Coming)
02:04
|
|||
I just called to inform you
The sun is shining in California
Cross my heart and hope to die
I'm not taking a jump
I'm taking a dive
Woah I'm coming, Los Angeles
I just called you inform you
Everything's fine in California
Turn my 33's to 45
I'm not taking a jump
I'm taking a dive
"From the East Coast to the West Coast inside myself I can hear the screams" -Warzone

Immaculate Perception
02:21
|
|||
Immaculate perception of the so called "good old days"
With hospitals for the weirdos
And closets for the gays
The well groomed fathers and well behaved wives
White picket fences, sitcom lives
Why would we ever go back?
May we never go back
Move forward- don't look back
Move forward- don't lose track
Move forward- don't look back
The past is the past
Move forward- don't look back
Move forward- don't lose track
Move forward- don't look back
The past is the past for a reason
When seen from every angle
It doesn't stay intact
Reflections get foggy
And the mirror it gets cracked
Discrimination and segregation
Why would we ever go back?
If we want a better nation
We must never lose track

Life Is Easier
02:05
|
|||
An angry look on your face
Like everyone is on your case
Life doesn't come so easily
When you're chasing misery
You fight the world like some kind of fool
You're the one who makes the rules
No one wants a part of you
Life is easier when you don't act hard
Life is easier when you don't act tough
So tough
You think that it's some kind of hex
When one bad day bleeds into the next
You're addicted to your point of view
Your appearance has the best of you
You're looking hard, looking mean
You've got no chance of coming clean
No one wants a part of you
